A denture is a removable dental appliance replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. At our Southeast (SE) Calgary dental office, we are a provider of both complete and partial dentures.
If missing teeth are left unfilled, the gap that is left behind can cause the surrounding teeth to shift out of place, eventually causing issue such gum disease and misalignment issues. Dentures are artificial tooth replacements that are used to replace one missing tooth, several in a row, or a whole jaw of missing teeth.
Request AppointmentA partial denture may be recommend when only select teeth are missing or have been extracted. Partial dentures help fill in the spaces created by these missing teeth and help prevent the remaining natural teeth from shifting.
A full or complete denture may be recommended when all of the teeth are missing. Complete dentures can be either “conventional” or “immediate.” A conventional denture is created after the teeth have been removed and the surrounding gum tissue has healed. This typically takes between 4 to 6 weeks.
